The main objective of this department is to develop pioneering findings that could be exploited for improved detection, diagnosis, prognosis, prevention and treatment of cancer. The department initiates and integrates advances in fundamental research with translational application to cancer. It serves as an interface between academic and medical communities to promote understanding of cancer. This department focuses mainly on understanding cancer cell signalling, DNA repair mechanism, cancer stem cells, autophagy and chemoresistance. Furthermore, we are developing 3D exvivo cell culture model for studying cell-cell and drug-cell interactions.
