Administrative Experience
The present position as CEO of a super specialty Hospital and the attached Post graduate Medical School involves organizing and supervision of various administrative and professional heads. Business promotion involves tying up with various organizations both government and insurance. Assuring quality and safety to the patients with ethical values has been the main focus of this 20 year old 150 bedded hospital. Various strategies have been devised to stay ahead in the competition and to keep up to date in this ever changing field. Management of professionals and doctors is the key for assuring excellent standards of medical care. This hospital has been known for its high standards and good working environment with protocol based treatments for our patients and doctors.
The attached post graduate Medical school( Medicity Institute of Medical Sciences) takes 150 undergraduate and over 100 post graduate medical students every year. The institute has tied up with University of Kentucky, USA and University of Pittsburgh, USA for rotating programme for students. The institute is staffed with high quality and senior faculty to deliver quality education to the students along with providing high quality of treatment to our patients who come to the attached 750 bedded hospital which is located in the out skirts of Hyderabad.
The CEO is at the helm of affairs with a responsibility of taking care of both the institutes with deep integration of clinical and educational services between the two units. Both have been staffed by a common Chief Operating Officer, Medical administrator and other unit heads who assist the CEO.
Professional Experience
Working in different hospitals as an SHO, I have received my basic Orthopaedic training in the U.K. The senior posts helped in upgrading the training and experiencing the management of various trauma and Orthopaedic conditions.
The work experience involved in dealing with a wide variety of trauma including poly trauma, routine Orthopaedic surgeries as well as major operations like Spinal surgeries, Total Hip Replacements, Total Knee Replacements. Working with a Peadiatric Orthopaedic Surgeon in England helped me to experience the management of most of the Peadiatric Orthopaedic conditions in particular Congenital Hip disease, Perthes disease and cerebral palsy management.
After returning to India, I was appointed to start an Orthopaedic Unit in a multi specialty hospital promoted by a group of Non resident Indian doctors in Vijayawada, AP, India. Being located close to three National High ways, it was a busy Unit dealing with a whole variety of trauma with a large catchment area. The work involved managing poly trauma with surgeries like interlocking nails, pelvic fixations, Total Hip Replacements,Total Knee replacements, Spinal surgeries including decompressions, stabilizations etc, along with organizing operation theatres, teaching junior doctors and other medical and para medical staff.
Moved to Medwin Hospital in Hyderabad as a unit head with a well established unit with the back up of all the modern equipment including C.T. Scan, MRI, Gamma Camera and the super specialty departments including I.C.C.U, Cardio thoracic surgery Neurology, Neurosurgery, plastic surgery etc. The Orthopaedic unit is staffed with three consultant surgeons, two postgraduate Registrars and two Resident doctors. The assignment involved apart from management of all varieties of trauma and Orthopaedic conditions, routine teaching of National Board, AFRCS (Edinburgh) candidates and resident doctors. Major Spine surgeries including Decompressions, Tumor Surgery and Spinal fusion with instrumentations were performed with a team approach including spinal surgeons, reconstructive surgeons and oncology surgeons. Orthopaedic surgeries include routine trauma surgeries, paediatric orthopaedic surgeries, Arthroscopic surgery, Total Hip and Total Knee Replacements.
The present appointment is in KIMS hospital as a senior Orthopaedic surgeon for the division of Orthopaedics surgery in this multi specialty corporate hospital. A whole variety of Orthopaedic Surgeries are undertaken here with a well established department which is staffed with ten consultants Orthopaedic surgeons , five registrars along with nine Post graduate students (DNB). My special interest is in “ Regenerative Orthopaedics” where preservation and regenerating the damaged joints using PRP ,stem cells etc.
